Construction Update
Route 9 Ledge Stabilization, Woodford
DATE: Thursday, 5/20/21

TRAFFIC IMPACT:
Periods of stopped of traffic will be required on Monday, 5/24 between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Expect flaggers and delays.


A lane shift is in effect. Traffic has been reduced from 2 lanes to one lane in the project area for eastbound traffic (traffic heading out of Bennington/Woodford toward Searsburg and Wilmington).


CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES:
 
Crews will continue hand scaling the south ledge next week. On Monday, 5/24 periods of full stoppages traffic will be required between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. for the removal of large boulders from the south side of Route 9. Stoppages will be approximately 5-7 minutes in duration, and may not exceed 15 minutes in duration.

Removal of these boulders will not require any blasting.

Message boards will be updated and flaggers will be on site to manage traffic. The traveling public should expect delays.

Holiday: In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, crews will not be working Saturday, 5/29 through Monday, 5/31. Work will resume on Tuesday, 6/1 at 7:00 a.m.
